A good website is only as good as its driver. Learning to drive your website can be a daunting task and requires time and research. What I try to do is build websites which are easy to drive straight out of the box but also with the ability to be enhanced and grow as the driver becomes more comfortable with how it works. I emphasise over and over that the most important thing your website needs to be is easy to market and needs to be found. It has to be useful and the operator of that website needs to be able to quickly add information and share it across the web. My websites are built keeping this in mind the whole time.
The featured site is for a Suzuki dealership who’s main focus is to promote their highly trained service technicians and mechanics. New bike sales are a part of their business as well. Being only a small dealership they needed to find a way to compete with the bigger guys and define their own place in the market. The main purpose of this website will be to allow their technicians one of which already has article writing experience to publish articles in the blog section of the site. So if you own a bike keep an eye out for some great articles on how to get peak performance from your suzuki motorcycle.
Writing informative articles such as these will have a couple of benefits for these guys.
It will show visitors, clients that they are knowledgeable in their industry which in turn builds trust allowing them to retain clients and harness new clients.
These articles will help with search engine ranking. Believe it or not Google is genuinely trying to provide you with search results which are up to date and match your search terms as best it can. The system I use to build my sites lets Google know that you have written a new article. Google then sends its “bots” or “spiders” or whatever you like to call them to scan the page and get it indexed as quickly as possible.
If you provide a well written, informative series of articles on an ongoing basis you will attract a readership. This readership can sometimes link to your articles, tweet them or share them on facebook to just name a few. Having people link to your articles will also have a positive effect on your search engine ranking. The higher your ranking the greater the chance your site will be found, the more “quality”visitors you attract to your site the more successful your site will be.
Along with the above my clients are able to add their own pages, then add pictures, video and links to those pages. This particular site also has the ability to add a sidebar to your pages or posts by simply checking a checkbox. In the sidebar you can have whichever “widgets” you like eg video, advertisements, a categories list for your blog, calender plus more.
It is easier than you think. Adding pages or posts to your new website is no harder than creating a Word document. My sites come complete with a WordPress Editor in which you type in your copy select the upload picture function to insert any pictures and click the publish button……. yes it is that easy but if still you dont want the hassle of doing it yourself I do offer a Web Support service where you can email me a word file or text file along with any images and I will format the pages and posts for you for an affordable fee.
